Seeking Nominations for 2019 Alumnus of the Year

Weekly Portraits of Calvary Life

Do you know a Calvary graduate who deserves to be honored as the 2019 Alumnus of the Year?  Please fill out the contact form here with your nomination and a paragraph describing his or her qualifications.  The deadline for submissions is Sunday, March 31.  Please help me compile a list of worthy individuals from which the President’s Cabinet will choose an honoree.  In general, we are looking for someone who is an outstanding example of faithfulness and who has maintained a strong connection with Calvary in the years since graduation.  Thank you for your assistance!

Auction Postponed with Many Events on the Horizon

Weekly Portraits of Calvary Life

Due to the forecast of more winter weather, the Feast & Fund Auction has been postponed until March 29.  We hope our supporters will be able to change their plans or make new plans to attend on this date.  Click here to sign up.

March is a very busy month for Calvary.  The Theatre Department will be presenting Newsies seven times over the next two weekends.  Click here to purchase tickets.  We also have Calvary Days, our campus preview event, coming up next weekend.  Click here for more information.

In the midst of all this activity, Cycle 4 will be ending, and a new cycle will be beginning.  Shortly after that is Spring Break which coincides with the Chorale Tour.  Click here to see the Chorale’s schedule which includes stops in Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska.

The end of March brings the new auction date and a recital by senior Cherrish Palmer.  Would you pray that the weather has no further impact on any of these events?  We thank the Lord for each of the students, faculty, and staff who make these events happen.  Would you pray for health and energy to abound?  Finally, we hope you’ll consider attending one or more of the upcoming events!

Christian Leaders Conference Focuses on Reality of Creation

Christian Leaders Conference Focuses on Reality of Creation

Weekly Portraits of Calvary Life

On February 8, Christian leaders and Calvary students gathered for a one-day conference focused on creation.  Dr. Baurain taught the first session, and Dr. Cone spoke on how to use the truth about creation in evangelism and discipleship.  Dr. Gromacki’s lesson on why believing in a literal Adam matters doubled as Chapel for the students.  After lunch, Dr. Dodds addressed the theological significance of creation.  Dr. Boyd taught the final session of the day.  He is the director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Creation Studies here at Calvary.  It is our prayer that all of the attendees came away with an understanding of the importance of the literal, six-day creation.

Warriors Record Three Straight Conference Wins

Warriors Record Three Straight Conference Wins

Weekly Portraits of Calvary Life

Calvary’s basketball teams are enjoying a stretch of home games.  For the men’s team that home court advantage has resulted in three straight conference wins.  On January 18, they defeated Faith Baptist Bible College, and then the next day brought another victory over Emmaus Bible College.  Ozark Christian College travelled to the Pyramid Athletic Center (Calvary’s gym) on January 22, and the Warriors won by the score of 80-74.

The team has two remaining regular season home games and three road games.  Calvary will then be hosting the Midwest Christian College Conference Tournament on February 14-16.
