CALVARY Scholarships

Scholarship Information

Calvary University offers a variety of scholarships to new and returning students. To qualify for scholarships, new and transfer students must first apply and be accepted for admission. All scholarships require that a student be degree-seeking and enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours for undergraduate students, 9 hours at the graduate level). Students completing a one-year certificate are not eligible to receive scholarships. Students must reapply for all scholarships each academic year in order to be considered for re-award (unless otherwise stated). Paperwork for scholarships requiring verification or additional information must be submitted and approved prior to class registration for scholarships or discounts to be applied to the student’s bill. Specific requirements for available scholarships can be reviewed below.

Scholarships funded by Calvary are awarded to cover tuition and fees at Calvary University only. Although most scholarships are stackable, as some scholarships are considerably more than others, you may not be able to stack certain scholarships. Student payments including outside scholarships, Pell Grant, Student Loans, and all other sources of payments on a student account are applied to a student’s billing charges first; then Calvary-funded scholarships are applied to any remaining balance.

Any resulting credit balance is left on the student’s account, and can be used in future semesters. Calvary does not pay out credit balances created by Calvary-funded scholarships to students. If the student ceases attending Calvary, any remaining credit balance resulting from Calvary-funded scholarships will result in a reduction of previously awarded scholarships to zero out the student’s balance.

Not all who apply for a scholarship and are otherwise eligible may receive the scholarship(s). Undergraduate students receiving the Alumni, Awana, Homeschool, and Unity Through Diversity Scholarships will be expected to help with certain on-campus Calvary events. Please note that all figures and factors are taken into consideration in the award of student scholarships, including on-campus or off-campus residence. Decisions on scholarships are made by the Student Aid Committee, whose deliberations and decisions are not public information. Applicants will be notified of their award status by the Financial Aid Office.

Application Deadline

April 10 is the deadline for current student renewals and the priority deadline for students entering in the fall semester. Final deadline for new students entering in the fall semester is June 7. All new and renewal applicants must complete the FAFSA before scholarships are awarded each year.

Carefully read the requirements for each scholarship BEFORE you submit your application. Submit all required documentation including any required essays.

Kameron Wiebe grew up near Whitewater, Kansas and stepped onto the campus of Calvary University in the fall of 2015 in search of learning biblical truth. Mediocrity was never the solution for Kameron as he desired to take possession of his beliefs and make his faith his own. His expectations were high, as he was the last of five siblings, belonging to Lyle and Lenora Wiebe, to attend Calvary.

When people asked Kameron why he came to Calvary he would humbly reply, “To have a better understanding of the Bible.” Kameron chose to enroll at Calvary because he realized, like all other Christians, he needed to grow in his own faith. Kameron was never one to be satisfied with half-hearted answers, and the solid teaching at Calvary was what he needed and desired. During his two years at Calvary he received stellar teaching, and those closest to him saw the growth that occurred in Kameron’s spiritual life, Many of the questions he had were answered through “rightly divided truth” in the classroom. His pondering soon turned to confidence, and his walk with the Lord quickly turned into a run!

In daily conversations about his faith, Kameron communicated first-hand how his questions were being answered and his faith was becoming stronger. He once told his expected fiancé Tasha, “If God is for us, we can get through anything!” He wanted nothing more than to keep God in the center of his life and to deepen his commitment to the Lord while at Calvary University. Kameron completed two years of preparation at Calvary, and his plans were to go on a mission trip to Mongolia, marry Tasha Krahn, and minister in his local church while farming with his dad and brother. Kameron lived out his faith with quietness and confidence, inspiring others to want to follow his example.
