Kameron Wiebe grew up near Whitewater, Kansas and stepped onto the campus of Calvary University in the fall of 2015 in search of learning biblical truth. Mediocrity was never the solution for Kameron as he desired to take possession of his beliefs and make his faith his own. His expectations were high, as he was the last of five siblings belonging to Lyle and Lenora Wiebe, to attend Calvary.

When people asked Kameron why he came to Calvary, he would humbly reply, “To have a better understanding of the Bible.” Kameron chose to enroll at Calvary because he realized, like all other Christians, he needed to grow in his own faith. Kameron was never one to be satisfied with half-hearted answers, and the solid teaching at Calvary was what he needed and desired. During his two years at Calvary, he received stellar teaching, and those closest to him saw the growth that occurred in Kameron’s spiritual life. Many of the questions he had were answered through “rightly divided truth” in the classroom. His pondering soon turned to confidence, and his walk with the Lord quickly turned into a run!

In daily conversations about his faith, Kameron communicated first-hand how his questions were being answered and his faith was becoming stronger. He once told his expected fiancé Tasha, “If God is for us, we can get through anything!” He wanted nothing more than to keep God in the center of his life and to deepen his commitment to the Lord while at Calvary University. Kameron completed two years of preparation at Calvary, and his plans were to go on a mission trip to Mongolia, marry Tasha Krahn, and minister in his local church while farming with his dad and brother. Kameron lived out his faith with quietness and confidence, inspiring others to want to follow his example. The scholarship is named after Kameron because he passed away before he could complete his plans, but he was still faithful and a great example to those who knew him and those who would attend Calvary after him.

Scholarship FAQs

Are one-year certificate students eligible for scholarships?

Students completing a one-year certificate are not eligible to receive scholarships.

What can scholarship funds cover?

Scholarships funded by Calvary are awarded to cover tuition and fees at Calvary University only. Although most scholarships are stackable, as some scholarships are considerably more than others, you may not be able to stack certain scholarships. Student payments including outside scholarships, Pell Grant, Student Loans, and all other sources of payments on a student account are applied to a student’s billing charges first; then Calvary-funded scholarships are applied to any remaining balance.

What happens if I have a remaining balance in my scholarship fund?

Any resulting credit balance is left on the student’s account, and can be used in future semesters. Calvary does not pay out credit balances created by Calvary-funded scholarships to students. If the student ceases attending Calvary, any remaining credit balance resulting from Calvary-funded scholarships will result in a reduction of previously awarded scholarships to zero out the student’s balance.

Do I have to reapply for a scholarship each academic year?

Yes. Students must reapply for all scholarships each academic year in order to be considered for re-award (unless otherwise stated). Specific requirements for available scholarships can be reviewed on this page.
