Scholarships
Calvary University offers a variety of scholarships to new and returning students.
Undergrad freshman applicants must provide the following for admission consideration:
- Completed application.
- Reference.
- Either a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent of a high school diploma (e.g., GED) ACT, SAT, or CLT. Calvary ACT code is 2312, Calvary SAT code is 6331.
- Applicants with no previous college experience are required to have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA for HS and a composite score of 17 on the ACT or 840 on the SAT.
- Read the College Profile and Student Life sections of the catalog.
All students whose primary language is not English must submit one of the following evidences of English proficiency:
- Minimum TOEFL overall score of 80
- Minimum IELTS overall score of 6.5
- A high school diploma from a U.S. – curriculum-based international school taught fully in English, and accredited within the U.S. (Minimum attendance of three years).
- An existing bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited U.S. based college or university or a school Calvary has an articulation agreement with.
Financial Information for International Students:
- International students must pursue a degree or certificate (can not be undeclared).
- International students will need to pay the $375 non-refundable application fee before their I-20 form can be issued. This fee includes the cost of express mailing the I-20 form and can be paid via Populi in the application form.
- All semester charges on their billing statement are to be paid 45 days before classes start. If full payment is not received, then the I-20 will be voided and registration dropped.
- For following semesters, full payment will need to be made by the financial deadlines.
- Even though international students cannot work off campus, Calvary cannot or will not promise employment for on campus jobs.
Calvary University has partnered with Flywire to provide a secure, cost effective method for international students to easily pay for their educational expenses at Calvary.
International Students interested in Teacher Education:
- International students are allowed to complete an undergraduate degree in Education.
- International students are allowed to be certified in the state of Missouri.
- Students must have a social security number (SSN) to apply for a Missouri teaching certificate.
- Students who are not U.S. citizens will need to work with the Social Security Administration to obtain an SSN. More information about the process of applying for an SSN is located at: https://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber/cards.htm.
- Calvary University cannot guarantee that students who are not U.S. citizens will be able to obtain an SSN at the time of graduation. The United States Social Security Administration has the authority to grant SSN numbers.
- Calvary University strongly recommends that international students who are Education majors pursue state certification. Departments of Education in most countries require government certification for individuals to be employed as teachers.
On-Campus Employment Requirements:
Calvary has a limited number of on-campus jobs available for international students.
To apply for an on-campus job, international students must bring proper I-9 identification.
If a student does not meet Calvary’s incoming minimum academic standards, they may be accepted on a case-by-case basis and will be admitted on an academic monitoring status
