Friday, June 1 was plenty warm at 95 degrees, but the 17th annual Calvary Classic saw plenty of fellowship and lots of water consumed by the 95 participating golfers.  Our deep appreciation goes out to each of the main sponsors, each hole sponsor, and for all the individual golfers who participated in the tournament. We are humbled to report that our tournament raised $25,620- $2,933.15 more than last year’s tournament!

Comments such as, “This continues to be the best tournament I play in all year”; “I participate in this tournament because I know it is helping to educate students, and to me, that is a worthy cause”; and “I don’t know how you do it, but each tournament is better than the last, it is so well organized,” warm our hearts as we endeavor to host events that our constituents can enjoy that benefit our students with the funds raised.  1190 bottles of water were donated by Hy-Vee, Arvest Bank provided candy and encouraging smiles, and Allen’s Electric donated all the soda pop for the tournament.  Of course, Raymore Steak and Shake providing the energy for our golfing with a wonderful burger/chili lunch and Price Chopper provided the fried chicken dinner that topped off our day.  Our total revenue was $25,620 and our total expenses were $4,532.86, leaving us a net return of $21,087.14.  All of this was possible because of our main sponsorships, Northland Sonic, Heritage Benefits, MidAmericCare, and United Heating and Cooling. They deserve a big “thank you!”

We hope to see you next year, at the 18th annual Calvary Classic on June 7, 2019.  Invite your friends and family to come and enjoy a great day of fellowship, food, and fun, all for the good cause of helping to defray the cost of education for Calvary University students.
