Favorite aspect of teaching at Calvary: Teaching science from the biblical worldview is my passion! I feel very blessed and thankful to be a member of the CU faculty. I enjoy having fun as we study God’s creation in the class and lab. I especially appreciate when students understand how science can be an important part of biblical apologetics.
Favorite class to teach: That is difficult to answer as I enjoy all of them! The truth is the class I enjoy the most is the class I’m teaching at the time. However, I enjoy chemistry the most. Fortunately, all of the classes I teach – such as biology, nutritional science, and physical science – involve chemistry.
Professional Organization(s): American Chemical Society; American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.

How did past ministry/professional experience lead to your position at Calvary: I’ve held several teaching and industrial positions as a scientist and have served as a teacher in church. My dream has always been to be able to use the gifts the Lord gave me as a scientist to teach from the biblical worldview.
Ministry/Professional involvement outside of Calvary: After obtaining my master’s degree, I taught full time for six years (two years in a community college and four years at a small four-year college). I also worked as a research chemist half-time for the US EPA for four years while I was teaching. In 1989, I left teaching and served as a pharmaceutical research manager at Bayer Animal Health for 30 years.
I have served in the church in many ways. I’ve taught Sunday School and other church-related classes for many years (perhaps 20), including grade school, high school, young adults, and adults. I was also an AWANA leader for many years. I have served as a Christian school board member a Deacon, an Elder, and on several church committees. I am also a reviewer for the Journal of Creation.
