Executive Director
Position Summary:
The Executive Director (ED) provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for the ministry
of Righteous Rides. Accountable to the Board of Directors, the ED is also responsible for
ensuring the spiritual, operational and financial health of the ministry. Most importantly, the ED
is the chief steward of the culture of Righteous Rides which seeks to do everything in a manner
worthy of God.
Key Responsibilities:
● Provides leadership for all aspects of the organization’s mission
â—‹ Cultivates a Christ-honoring and Christ-centered organizational culture that
delivers exceptional service to missionaries
â—‹ Develops a high-performing team of spiritually healthy leaders, staff and
volunteers
○ Leads the development and implementation of the organization’s long-term
strategy
â—‹ Ensures day-to-day operations run smoothly and are constantly improving,
meeting the needs of the missionaries we serve and ensuring the ministry’s long
term financial health
â—‹ Oversees all aspects of the ministry, including finance, human resources, risk
management and development (ministry relations)
â—Ź Develops and executes fundraising strategies to secure financial support from
individuals, corporations, and foundations
â—‹ Nurtures a commitment to biblical stewardship principles, including trusting God
as our source and developing generous givers
â—‹ Builds and maintains strong, positive relationships with donors and volunteers
â—‹ Establishes and sustains a planned giving program
â—‹ Oversees grant writing and reporting to ensure compliance with funding
requirements
● Engages community stakeholders and forms strong partnerships to fulfill the ministry’s
vision
â—‹ Proactively communicates with and involves the Board of Directors in strategic
decisions
â—‹ Creates and implements strategies to raise awareness and build support for the
ministry among diverse communities, including churches, Christian colleges and
universities, local businesses (e.g. banks, insurance firms, auto suppliers, etc.)
and local municipalities
â—‹ Cultivates relationships with mission boards and identifies synergies that
accelerate and advance our mission
Qualifications:
â—Ź Experience
â—‹ At least 10 years of organizational leadership experience marked by
increasing responsibilities and the building of highly effective teams
â—‹ At least 5 years of leadership within a non-profit or ministry preferred
â—‹ International ministry experience preferred
â—‹ Experience raising personal and/or ministry financial and prayer support
preferred
â—Ź Spiritual
â—‹ A strong walk with the Lord, evidenced by consistent commitment to
personal and corporate prayer, regular feeding on God’s Word, active in a
local evangelical church, a pattern of repentance, a growing capacity for
joy and increasing manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit
â—‹ Growing in humility, committed to servant leadership, possessing a
teachable spirit and excited about learning
â—‹ Possesses a deep love for world missions and international missionaries,
and that passion is contagious
â—Ź Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
â—‹ Strong servant leadership skills, including strategic planning, managing
and developing people, leading change and operational excellence
â—‹ Strong communication skills, including listening, speaking (including public
speaking), writing and crisis communication
â—‹ Strong relationship management skills, including the ability to develop and
sustain relationships with a diverse set of internal and external
stakeholders
â—‹ Strong knowledge and understanding of business development, human
resources, risk management, continuous process improvement, strategy
development and deployment, finance, accounting, information
technology, data analytics, facilities management, philanthropy/donor
relations, volunteer management and board development
