Worship Minister

Jersey Church is a growing multigenerational church located on the eastside of Columbus, OH. The church is led by Senior Pastor Matt Read, who has been on staff for nine years and was recently named the lead pastor. Jersey currently offers their Chapel services (traditional) at 8:00a & 10:00a on Sunday mornings, and their Central Venue services (modern) at 9:00a & 10:30a. The church is currently seeing around 1,200 in total Sunday morning attendance, and is trending upwards.

The church is seeking the right candidate to take over as the new Worship Minister to oversee their entire worship ministry and be the primary worship leader for the Central Venue services. The right candidate will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity that align with the church’s overall mission and vision. Below are the qualifications and responsibilities Froot Group and the church have identified for this role:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cultivate a Culture of Transformative Worship
Serve as the primary worship leader for the Central Venue (modern) services.
Lead by example and inspire the congregation to engage in worship that deepens their relationship with God and fosters personal growth.
Coordinate and provide leadership of worship and production staff, volunteer teams and leaders for in-person and online Sunday worship services.
Coordinate with Senior Pastor and any others involved in creating and producing the services, carrying out the vision of the Senior Pastor for each service.
Oversee Worship Rehearsals
Coordinate and lead worship rehearsals, ensuring that musicians and worship leaders are well-prepared and equipped for all Sunday morning worship services.
Schedule, prepare chord charts, recordings, and other elements required to help volunteers plan and prepare for rehearsal/Sundays via Planning Center.
Develop Leaders
Invest in young vocalists and musicians to identify and nurture their talents, with the goal of developing the next generation of worship leaders. Provide guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for growth.
Actively identify and attract/recruit individuals who possess musical gifts and a heart for worship. Provide training and support to help them develop their skills and lead worship effectively.
Spend time investing in relationships with volunteers on the worship team.
Oversee and lead the current worship and production staff which includes a full time Production Director, a full time Student Worship Director, and a part time Chapel Services Choir Director.
Responsible for planning and managing worship resources within an annual budget.
Participate in all aspects of general pastoral care of the Jersey community as part of the pastoral team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Visionary leadership and character that possesses spiritual discernment, emotional intelligence, and the ability to establish rapport with staff, musicians, technicians and teaching/executive pastors.
Organized and efficient.
An excellent leader and communicator.
A multi-tasking team player with high energy, strong interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude.
A strong desire to grow and develop their own giftings.
Strong relational skills to establish and maintain relationships within the staff and volunteers.
Advanced musical skill both vocally and instrumentally.
High level of vocal competency
Able to play at least one instrument, preferably acoustic guitar or keys.
Education
A bachelor’s degree is preferred, though not required.
Experience
At least 3 years of full time worship leading experience previously at a church of similar size and style is ideal.
