Search Committee

Hello,

As a member of our call committee I’m reaching out to let you know we are seeking a pastor for our church in southwest Wisconsin. You may not be a pastor yourself, but we would like to connect with you as you may know other people we could network with to find the right man to be our future pastor. We are open to recommendations, referrals, or even contacts for interim guest preachers.

More Details:

We are a healthy vibrant church and have been successfully carrying on our activities without a steady full-time pastor for several years, following the retirement of our long-term pastor. For almost a year we have had a solid retired pastor that preaches for us almost every week. We have an active group of men that fill in with teaching, worship leadership, youth activities, bible studies, and congregational care and leadership.

A good future pastor fit for us would be someone who can keep the main focus on Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and build and encourage our families raising the next generations.

We’re a non-denominational, believer’s baptism church. A good number of active young families make up the future of our church; many of these are part of multi-generational families that have attended our church for many years. We are a rural church – relatively conservative but not excessively rigid nor legalistic. We have solid giving, no debt, and good attendance with avg attendance ~60/week.

We have mostly a premil dispensational perspective within our church.  We have strong alignment on core beliefs although we do have a mix of secondary theological backgrounds within our church – we are looking for a pastor that can maintain this blend and thrive in this environment. We’re open to different backgrounds (typical non-denominational; soft dispensational, reformed, baptist, etc). 30 years +/- years ago we were non-denominational Lutheran but we have moved away from that focus and have officially updated our name, statement of beliefs, and constitution in recent years. As an independent church we have different people at different places on some common theological topics. People are respectful about these differences and we’re not looking for a pastor to bring dramatic shifts along denominational lines or to standardize everyone on secondary issues.

I’d be happy to have a quick chat with you to get your insights or thoughts on what you think would be a good path forward for us. You can reach us at our church’s email at [email protected] (preferred) or [email protected] (general).

If you don’t know of any potential full time pastor candidates; but know of a network of pastors or individual pastors that wanted to fill in as a preacher for one or even more Sundays we’d be open to that as well.
