Program Goals
The English Department will produce graduates who are able to:
- Produce clear, effective writing that is appropriate for its purpose, thoughtful in its analysis, and considerate of its audience.
- Critically and skillfully analyze literature in a way that is deeply rooted in a Biblical view of the human experience and spiritual realities.
- Create stories that honor God in their skillful and imaginative command of narration, plot, setting, character development, conflict, and theme.
- Demonstrate an ability to think critically, consider the merits and flaws of opposing viewpoints, and synthesize responses.
