Overview

The Music Department provides quality training and ministry opportunities for students desiring to serve through music. Students of all majors are involved in music learning and ministry through private lessons, music courses, concerts, musicals, chapel music, Masterworks Chorus, and music groups during the school year and in the summer.

The Music Department has four distinct programs designed to train the student to maximize musical gifts and talents while developing the character and skill set necessary for effective ministry. Overall musicianship and competency isstressed, while concentrating on the specific areas of leading, teaching, performing, and ministering. The student who successfully completes the Music Education program will be eligible to apply for ACSI certification, which qualifies him/her to teach in Christian schools, and to apply for Missouri State Teacher Certification, which qualifies him/her to teach in public schools. The Worship Arts Major has multiple concentrations which allow various areas of music involvement.
