Favorite aspect of teaching at Calvary: I have always had a heart for Calvary!  Both of my parents are Calvary graduates as well as my daughter and I.  As a matter of fact, I received a letter from Dr. Andrus when I was born that welcomed me to the world and said that he hoped I would consider coming to Calvary when I grew up!  Coming on staff here is a dream come true for me!

What I love about Calvary is that we are able to integrate Biblical truth into all of our subject matter and conversations.  I love the heart for ministry that is evident in both the faculty, staff, and students as they prepare for a life of serving the Lord.  I appreciate the family-like community and look forward to settling in well.

Favorite class to teach: Most of my life focus has been in Christian education.  I have taught preschool and elementary classes for 20 years.  I have worked as an Elementary Principal for 6 years.  I like teaching about everything associated with classroom instruction…learning strategies, classroom management, Biblical integration, differentiated instruction, etc.  I also have taught the Truth Project for several groups of young adults.

I also like mentoring young moms and talking about issues with raising kids.

How did past ministry/professional experience lead to your position at Calvary: I worked for 10 years as the Early Education Director at Summit Christian Academy, then worked on the mission field in Moscow, Russia for 8 years.  During our time on furlough, my husband served as the Missionary-in-Residence at Calvary.  God began pulling our hearts into establishing this as our next chapter of ministry, so I was overjoyed when a position opened up for me as well.

Ministry/Professional involvement outside of Calvary: Upon returning to the United States, we began attending Raintree Community Church which is actually a church that my husband and I helped plant before moving to Russia.  While there, I served in Children’s ministry through teaching Sunday School as well as serving as a small group leader on Wednesday nights.  In 2025, we began attending Journey Church International where I served in Vacation Bible School in the summer and plan to continue involvement in Children’s Ministry.

In addition to church involvement, I also work part-time in a tutoring/therapy role with an elementary student who has Cerebral Palsy.  I provide educational tutoring and facilitate occupational therapy activities.  Her parents are Calvary alumni, so this provides a beneficial service to them while also helping the student develop independent skills. The one-on-one time also leads to conversations about faith and it is a joy to see her grow in her relationship with Jesus as she continues to mature.
