Auction Postponed with Many Events on the Horizon

Weekly Portraits of Calvary Life

Due to the forecast of more winter weather, the Feast & Fund Auction has been postponed until March 29.  We hope our supporters will be able to change their plans or make new plans to attend on this date.  Click here to sign up.

March is a very busy month for Calvary.  The Theatre Department will be presenting Newsies seven times over the next two weekends.  Click here to purchase tickets.  We also have Calvary Days, our campus preview event, coming up next weekend.  Click here for more information.

In the midst of all this activity, Cycle 4 will be ending, and a new cycle will be beginning.  Shortly after that is Spring Break which coincides with the Chorale Tour.  Click here to see the Chorale’s schedule which includes stops in Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska.

The end of March brings the new auction date and a recital by senior Cherrish Palmer.  Would you pray that the weather has no further impact on any of these events?  We thank the Lord for each of the students, faculty, and staff who make these events happen.  Would you pray for health and energy to abound?  Finally, we hope you’ll consider attending one or more of the upcoming events!

Emily Wirth Presents Senior Recital

Emily Wirth Presents Senior Recital

Weekly Portraits of Calvary Life

“To our great God, ruler of everything and lover of each one – Thank you for guiding me through all the twists, turns, bumps, and potholes on my long journey through college.” ~ Emily Wirth

Emily (Heitz) Wirth

Those words were the first part of the acknowledgments in the program for Emily Wirth’s Senior Recital on Sunday.  During her long, winding path to graduation, Emily has studied under Paul Vander Mey, Cheryl Clark, Dr. Haekyung An, and Dr. Tom Stolberg.  Completing her Senior Recital is another step on the path, and it is a good example of perseverance, especially for those who may have given up on their dreams of finishing college.  Emily was accompanied on the piano by Christopher Stolberg, and she sang pieces by Handel, Scarlatti, and Schubert among others.  She plans to use her degree by teaching voice and piano lessons, performing, and composing music.  To God be the glory for how He has brought Emily to this place!

Charis Schneeberger Senior Recital

Charis Schneeberger Senior Recital

Calvary University Senior, Charis Schneeberger, invites you to attend her Senior Recital on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at Blue River Bible Church, 15608 Fairchild Dr, Kansas City, MO 64147.  This is a FREE recital.

Charis is from Raymore, Missouri, majoring in Music Education –Vocal. This degree will prepare her to be certified to teach music at the K-12 level in general and vocal classrooms. Next semester she will continue in her degree program before completing her student teaching in the Spring of 2019. She currently enjoys singing ALL the time, teaching kids to swim, taking classes, and hanging out with friends and family.

Singing since she could talk, Charis has had many opportunities to shape her gift throughout junior high and high school in choirs and vocal ensembles, as well as, the Calvary Choral her first two years as a student. She was also a part of Calvary University’s traveling ensemble, Evidence, for two years. She is so thankful for the progress she has made at Calvary so far and hopes to continue to grow to be the very best she can be for those around her now and her students in the future.

Each Music Major has to perform a final recital as part of their degree requirements; however, even though it is required, it is one of the more fun things Music Seniors get to do for their degree process.  Come hear Charis as she sings a selection of Italian, French, and German composers as well as an American favorite composer.  These selections will delight and entertain you, as well as, give you insight as to the hard work and talent of the music program here at Calvary. University.
