On September 6, representatives from more than thirty churches and ministries gathered in Liberty Chapel for the Christian Ministry Fair. New students were introduced to many local churches. This is extremely helpful as they are just starting to search for a body with whom to worship and fellowship. Since Calvary requires eight semesters of Christian Ministry for a four-year degree, the fair was also a great time to check out all of the opportunities for serving the Lord through a church or ministry organization. Students were encouraged to visit with at least ten different representatives during the fair.
Christian ministry is a vital part of life at Calvary. Students are required to find and faithfully attend a local church. After choosing a church home, students must spend their remaining semesters involved in evangelism, ministry at a local church or organization, and service which relates to their academic major. Christian ministry allows students to apply what they are learning in the classroom and prepares them for future service.
In order to assist our students in the search for a church and/or a place to serve, Calvary hosts a Christian Ministry Fair each fall. Yesterday we had more than twenty churches and more than ten organizations represented on campus. Students, especially new ones, had the opportunity to meet and gather information from friendly pastors and representatives. It is our desire that this fair established some connections that will lead to growth and ministry for God’s glory.
