Calvary University Chorale Tour

Annual Spring Break Chorale Tour Slated for March 19-27

The Calvary University Chorale will be traveling over Spring Break in March for their annual Chorale Tour. They will leave Calvary on Monday, March 18 and return on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. The Chorale consists of 20 members under the direction of Jeremy Schell on tour. Dr. Haekyung An also directs Chorale classes at CU to prepare the students for tour. This year they will travel west to Colorado to perform in a variety of venues, including Churches, Christian schools and a concert in the park. Along with sharing what Calvary has to offer to upcoming students, our purpose of this year’s tour, is to inform those in the local area about Calvary University’s Innovation Center in Fort Morgan, Colorado. The Chorale will be singing at the Bandstand in the Park in Fort Morgan for the community to come and hear the wonderful music and testimonies and to get a taste of what the Innovation Center has to offer. We are grateful for all the Churches and families that are willing to host our students each year for their tour and look forward to hearing how God moves in the lives of our students and those they minister to along the way.

Auction Postponed with Many Events on the Horizon

Due to the forecast of more winter weather, the Feast & Fund Auction has been postponed until March 29. We hope our supporters will be able to change their plans or make new plans to attend on this date. Click here to sign up.

March is a very busy month for Calvary. The Theatre Department will be presenting Newsies seven times over the next two weekends. Click here to purchase tickets. We also have Calvary Days, our campus preview event, coming up next weekend. Click here for more information.

In the midst of all this activity, Cycle 4 will be ending, and a new cycle will be beginning. Shortly after that is Spring Break which coincides with the Chorale Tour. Click here to see the Chorale’s schedule which includes stops in Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska.

The end of March brings the new auction date and a recital by senior Cherrish Palmer. Would you pray that the weather has no further impact on any of these events? We thank the Lord for each of the students, faculty, and staff who make these events happen. Would you pray for health and energy to abound? Calvary University’s Music Department presents “Music of Germany” featuring a variety of music by beloved German composers on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Blue River Bible Church, 15608 Fairchild Dr, Kansas City, MO 64147. This is a FREE concert. Enjoy selections by J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms and R. Strauss both vocal and instrumental selections as performed by our Music Department Faculty and a Special Guest Artist.

Christian Leaders Conference Focuses on Reality of Creation

Dr. Gary Gromacki spoke on the historical Adam debate.

On February 8, Christian leaders and Calvary students gathered for a one-day conference focused on creation. Dr. Baurain taught the first session, and Dr. Cone spoke on how to use the truth about creation in evangelism and discipleship. Dr. Gromacki’s lesson on why believing in a literal Adam matters doubled as Chapel for the students. After lunch, Dr. Dodds addressed the theological significance of creation. Dr. Boyd taught the final session of the day. It is our prayer that all of the attendees came away with an understanding of the importance of the literal, six-day creation.

Students Challenged to “Stick to the Business” During C.O.G.E.

Greg Sanford from Ethnos360 spoke during the main sessions.

Calvary’s 2019 Conference on Global Engagement (C.O.G.E.) featured Greg Sanford as the main speaker. His sessions challenged all in attendance to “stick to the business.” For Christians that “business” is the Great Commission. Mr. Sanford was a church planter in the Yanomamo tribe for 12 years, so he has first-hand experience and stories to tell. In addition to the four main sessions, students had the opportunity to attend seminars dealing with various missions-related topics. The Langmade Room was filled with display tables and more than 40 representatives from 25 different organizations. The whole campus spent time in prayer on Wednesday morning, and the evenings also offered more exposure to what God is doing in the world through presentations and prayer.
