Title: Associate Professor of Theatre Arts
Started at Calvary: July 2016

Favorite aspect of teaching at Calvary: One of my favorite aspects of teaching at Calvary is watching students successfully implement what they are learning. While working in the scene shop, I find it immensely satisfying to see students able to successfully take a drafting and know how to build the scenery. They can understand the structural drawings, select the best tools to use, and safely build the piece as designed.
Favorite class to teach: Set Design and Construction

How did past ministry/professional experience lead to your position at Calvary: I originally came to Calvary as a student expecting to work in a Christian camping ministry. It was while at Calvary that I developed a passion for theatre and found my niche in the backstage work. After getting my undergraduate degree at Calvary, I went on to pursue a masters in Technical Theatre, so I would be able to pursue theatre as a career. After graduating with my masters, I was able to come back to Calvary as technical director and have loved being able to work with the students as our program continues to grow.
Ministry/Professional involvement outside of Calvary:
- Technical Director at Heart of America Shakespeare Festival from 2018-present
- Deacon at Raintree Community Church, Lee’s Summit
