Job Announcement: Senior Pastor

 

Maywood Community Church is seeking a new Senior Pastor. After 18 years, the church’s long-time Senior Pastor is retiring at the end of April 2023. The church was founded in 1938 as a non-denominational Bible church and, as such, will seek to have a relationship with all Christian churches, Para-church and missionary organizations that are in agreement with our statement of faith.

 

Theologically, Maywood aligns with such schools as Calvary University, Dallas Theological Seminary, and The Master’s Seminary. We are searching for an energetic, Biblically sound individual interested in working with us to help carry out the mission endowed upon our church by God. CHURCH LEADERSHIP – Council of Elders

 

The Council of Elders (Elders) are comprised of pastoral staff and laymen who work together to lead the Church. The Elders oversee the ministry and resources of the Church.

 

Pastor

 

The Pastor is a member of the Council of Elders and will hold that position immediately upon appointment as Pastor. He will be the primary Elder responsible for “perfecting the saints” for Christian service. The Pastor will be responsible for the general oversight of the spiritual welfare of the Church. He will give himself to prayer and the ministry of the Word. Preaching and teaching God’s Word or, “Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth” (II Timothy 2:15) is a task requiring the pastor to be a disciplined student.

 

Qualifications

·         Possess a God-given passion for church spiritual growth, renewal, community outreach and evangelism.

·         Prior, proven ministry experience as a Senior (preferred) or Associate Pastor.

·         Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Studies, Bible, or Theology.

·         Master’s Degree in Theology or Divinity from an accredited Seminary (preferred)

·         Certificate or License of Ordination (required)

·         Expository Preacher

·         Must possess the qualifications found in I Timothy 3: 1-7 and Titus 1: 5-9

·         Written personal statement of Faith.

·         Experience – (preferred) minimum 5-years as Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor, or Minister experience.

SPIRITUAL MATURITY – has received and accepted a calling from God for this unique ministry and is committed to Jesus Christ and the authority of Scripture. Pursues righteousness and a Godly life, believes in the power of prayer as evidenced by a strong personal prayer and devotional life. Relies upon the Holy Spirit and displays the Fruit of the Spirit in every aspect of his life and ministry. Must agree with Maywood’s Statement of Faith.

 

LIFE ON MISSION – has a heartfelt burden for lost people and a desire to lead a church that is effectively reaching its community. Models a lifestyle of evangelism through building relationships with people who are far from God. Has a deep understanding of sound doctrine and its use in life and ministry. Has the skills and discernment to counsel and guide church members through life challenges using a Biblical foundation. Committed to Christ-centered preaching and teaching, using God’s Word to inspire the church to grow closer to God and have a heart for missions.

 

LEADERSHIP – ability to identify, motivate, and train individuals and teams with demonstrated communication skills. Adaptable and resilient when confronted with barriers and setbacks, and demonstrated skills as a problem solver. Ability to work well with others in leadership positions. Understanding of and ability to follow Biblical guidelines on church discipline.

 

Senior Pastor is a Full-Time position. Compensation package range is from $58,000 to $72,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits are negotiable and may include but are not limited to:
