First Baptist Church of Freeport, Illinois, established in 1845, is a non-denominational Baptist church, looking for a full-time senior pastor. We are a Bible-based, mission-oriented church that serves both international missions and local outreach. The church is in Freeport, Illinois, a community of approximately 25,000, with solid public and Christian school systems.
Our average Sunday service attendance is 30. Our peak attendance in the late 1900s was in excess of 800. For many reasons, the church has experienced the loss of members during the past few years. Someone with a healing nature is needed to love and build up the believers as they work to show the love of Christ to the community.
Our need is for a church “RE-planter.” We have a beautiful facility that needs repairs. We have an endowment that enables us to meet our missions obligations, salaries, and upkeep and maintenance.

Eligible Candidates must meet the requirements of 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus1:5–9 and should possess:
A pastoral heart and a calling from God
Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit
A passion for foreign missions and local outreach
A heart for revival and church growth
A desire to teach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ
Responsibilities:
Pastoral oversight of the church
Teaching, training, and providing opportunities for members to grow in the use of their gifts
Developing ministry opportunities
Mentoring and discipling
Crisis response – hospital visitation, addressing personal and family problems
Providing Sunday morning services, Bible studies. Leading special services (Good Friday,
Christmas Eve, etc.) as necessary
The compensation package includes a direct salary; use of the church parsonage, including utilities; and other benefits.

Pastoral: A minimum of 5 years as lead pastor (Preferred)
35+ years of age
License/Certification:
