Website Faith Community Church

Who We Are

Founded in 1983, Faith Community Church is a non-denominational bible church in rural northcentral Nebraska that has focused on family and youth ministry since its inception. FCC has about 400 people in its Sunday morning worship and is regularly looking for creative ways to reach the lost and disciple believers. We not only want to reach Holt County with the gospel, but also do what we can to take the gospel around the world. We challenge and encourage our people to be involved in world evangelism through both short term and long-term missions. We currently staff an Associate Pastor, an Associate Pastor of Youth, and two secretaries. FCC offers a full complement of traditional evangelical programs and has recently completed a large building project for the high school youth; we thank the Lord that through His faithfulness, and the generosity of His people, we are debt free. Faith Community has been a leader in meeting the needs of children and youth in this area. We have approximately 250 children (PreK-12) coming to our youth ministry, and about half of them do not attend church regularly anywhere. FCC also focuses on moving our adults into a vital Small Groups Ministry. We believe that prayer is a hallmark of our church. We do not only BELIEVE that prayer changes lives, but we make it an integral part of everything we do. FCC began as a result of earnest prayer and we seek to continue that by making it a part of our Sunday morning worship and various ministries.

Where We Are

O’Neill, the county seat of Holt County, is a farming/ranching community nestled between the unique rolling Sandhills of western Nebraska, and the corn country of eastern Nebraska. Two hours directly north of Grand Island on Highway 281, O’Neill is the Irish Capital of the state, and is home to nearly 4,000 people. We have some of the best medical services in the area with a hospital, two medical clinics, two optometrists, three chiropractic clinics, and several dentists. O’Neill is also committed to education. The district attracts excellent teachers and has students of the highest caliber. Two years ago, they completed a $13 million renovation of the Jr/Sr High School. Northeast Community College acts as a satellite, allowing professionals and others to complete college-level education classes and continue certification in various fields.

Who We Are Looking For

We are praying for a man who models a strong walk with Christ and has a clear calling to pastoral ministry. He would regularly communicate the overall vision of FCC and lead the church in accomplishing it. His primary tasks will include preaching Sunday morning (70-75% of the time), providing oversight of the staff, and offering pastoral care and visitation as needed. A Seminary degree is preferred, but not required; however, preference will be given to those with a degree. Previous pastoral experience would be preferred.
