Job Summary:
Our marketing coordinator will have experience in various marketing functions, including communications, advertising, branding, digital, and social media. The marketing coordinator must be an organized multitasker, able to handle many diverse projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Objectives of this Role:

Assist in supporting and implementing the Mission’s brand strategy.
Identify and execute processes, content, and lead generation improvements to ensure that all marketing efforts serve immediate and long-term goals.
Prepare marketing activity reports and metrics for program success.
Compile market research, forecasts, competitor analysis, campaign results, and consumer trends in collaboration with our analytics specialist.
Support the development and maintenance of internal tools, including credentials database, trackers, global contact directory.
Build knowledge and education regularly through workshops, research, and seminars, and share best practices and local marketing tactics with team members.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Social Media Management:

Develop and implement social media strategies to increase engagement, reach, and brand awareness.
Assist in the creation, curation, and schedule of compelling content across various social media platforms.
Monitor and respond to audience interactions, comments, and messages promptly.
Work closely with our Data Analyst on social media metrics and adjust strategies to optimize performance and engagement.
2. Press Releases:

Write and distribute press releases to announce organizational updates, events, and campaigns.
Cultivate relationships with media outlets and journalists to secure coverage and maximize exposure.
Coordinate interviews and media appearances for key stakeholders as needed.
3. Media Buys:

Plan and execute media buys, including radio, TV spots, and billboards, to increase visibility and reach target audiences.
Assist in negotiating contracts and manage relationships with media vendors to ensure cost-effective and strategic placements.
Track and analyze the effectiveness of media campaigns and adjust strategies as necessary.
4. Communications:

Assist in creating inserts for donor gift receipts, conveying gratitude and impact.
Ensure consistency in messaging and brand identity across all donor communications.
Communicate campaign objectives, timelines, and deliverables to the development team and provide instructions for usage and promotion.
Plan meetings, events, conferences, and trade shows by identifying requirements, establishing contacts, developing schedules and assignments, and coordinating mailing lists.
Maintain an inventory of donor communication materials, ensuring they are all current and accurate, and coordinate creating new materials when necessary while actively supporting the creative intake process.
Continually seek new sources of prospective data for marketing and development.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather client, volunteer, and donor content and stories.

City Union Mission Requirements:
·         Be a born again, mature Christian able to clearly communicate the Gospel as opportunities arise during the workday. (1 Peter 2:21, 3:15)

·         Have a desire to serve the Lord through widely varied responsibilities to advance ministry to those currently homeless, and the urban poor of Kansas City, with a compassionate heart.

·         Agree to City Union Mission’s Statement of Ministry:

o    Be a genuine believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, as expressed by personal testimony and conduct.

o    Be a member in good standing of a recognized protestant, evangelical church for one year or more.

o    Have a genuine concern for the ministry of City Union Mission.

o    Have a minimum of one year of sobriety from alcohol and drugs and six months from tobacco.

o    Agree to abstain from alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, and tobacco while employed by City Union Mission.

o    Have a lifestyle that is free of sexual sin as clearly defined in the Bible.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Has a solid working knowledge of all social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Youtube.
Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and content.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
Familiarity using marketing analytics software for research.
Working knowledge of HTML and design and email software.
Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus.
Education and Experience:
·         Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred

·         2 years of proven experience in marketing coordination or a similar role.

·         Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing.

Continuous Learning and Development:

·         Build knowledge and education regularly through workshops, research, and seminars.

·         Share best practices and local marketing tactics with team members.

Physical Requirements:
·         Prolonged periods of sitting/standing/kneeling, etc.

·         Must be able to lift 25_ pounds at times.

Travel Requirements:
·         Ability to drive to our campuses in Kansas City and in Warsaw.
