Full Time Senior Pastor

Bible Center Church (BCC) is seeking a Senior Pastor, a man who will faithfully preach
and teach God’s Word, regularly share the gospel of Jesus Christ, humbly provide
spiritual leadership for the church, and tenderly shepherd the congregation.
BCC is a non-denominational church, founded in 1969 by several area families who
were meeting for Bible studies and wanted a Bible-focused independent local church.
The main building was completed in 1970 and an activities building was added later.
Ours is a family church with a traditional but relaxed atmosphere. Membership
swelled over the years but has waned since Covid and Hurricane Ida.
Essential Qualifications
1. Must be a believer and a gifted expository preacher and teacher
2. An ordained minister with a degree from an accredited Bible college/seminary
3. Meet the criteria of an elder in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9
4. Have strong Biblical and Theological knowledge
5. Proficient in gleaning the intended meaning of the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures
6. A solid moral character, able to lead with compassion and humility
7. Agree with, will adhere to, and teach according to our Articles of Faith
Desirable Qualifications
1. 5-10 years of ministry and leadership experience
2. Have a vision for discipleship, evangelism, missions, and outreach
3. Experience ministering to families, married couples and children/youth
4. Will initially be able to work without staff, instead collaborating with other church
leaders on administrative, facilities, communication and visitation duties
Primary Duties
1. Prepare and deliver weekly sermons, including sharing the gospel
2. Supervise church ministries and align them to sermon plans
3. Teach the congregation to exercise their spiritual gifts
4. Administer the ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s table
5. Provide counseling, comfort, correction and prayer for the congregation
6. Extend the right hand of fellowship to visitors and new members
Additional Duties
1. Attend regular and special board meetings
2. Provide premarital counseling, attend rehearsals and services, and complete all
paperwork required by the state of Louisiana for weddings
3. Comfort, console and assist members with funeral arrangements and services
4. Visit hospitalized, shut-in, sick or bereaved members
5. Communicate with existing and potential new missionaries
6. Ensure church workers are screened, and children protected
7. Provide sermon notes/outlines and other input to the weekly bulletin
8. Respond to social media comments and questions on sermon videos
9. Contribute to the church annual report
10. Recommend qualified men to fill the pulpit when not available
