Favorite aspect of teaching at Calvary: Teaching music and life skills from a Biblical worldview.

Favorite class to teach: I like them all! If I had to choose one, though, I might say Digital Music.

Originally from: Portland, OR

How did past ministry/professional experience lead to your position at Calvary: I began learning piano and improvisation from music ministers at my parents’ church. When I got my driver’s license, our insurance agent—also a local organist—took interest in me and helped propel me in vocal accompanying. My college piano teacher pushed me harder than anyone before, and my college composition professors forced me to write outside my comfort zone. Hard work, determination, and sheer will got me through college, the pandemic, and to KC, where I was an accompanist at North Kansas City Schools. Then I heard of Calvary, they knew some of my professors, and the rest is history. However, it is ultimately because of Jesus, who guided me through it all. (It matters who you know, not what you know.)

Ministry/Professional involvement outside of Calvary: Music: Accompanist, Kansas City Ballet (2021-present); Accompanist, North Kansas City Schools (2021-22); Collaborative Pianist (Summer) in Dance, Interlochen Summer Academy (2021-present); Adjunct Instructor in Digital Music, University of Pittsburgh-Bradford (2021); Studio Class Accompanist, Florida State University School of Dance (2019-21); Instructor of Record, Florida State University College of Music (2017-20)

Ministry: Former elder, University Lutheran Church (Tallahassee, FL).
