Conference on Global Engagement

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Dr. David Wilson, Director of Church Engagement at Avant Ministries
David J. Wilson (D. Min.) and his wife Lorene, have served together in the local church since 1996. He was a Missions Pastor for over 20 years. They currently live in Kansas City, MO and serve as the Director of Church Engagement at Avant Ministries. They have written 3 books together: Pipeline: Engaging the Church in Missionary Mobilization engages the church to be intentional and proactive in making global disciples and mobilizing the next generation of missionaries. Mind the Gaps: Engaging the Church in Missionary Care, equips churches to care for missionaries they support and send out; and Transforming Missionaries: A Short-Term Mission Guide, prepares church leaders as they develop a deliberate short-term mission strategy.
Dave has a M.Div. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a D.Min. from Campbell University. David has many years of experience guiding local churches in the development of their missions programs. We are excited to have him with us.
For the first time, we are inviting local churches to join us for the entirety of our missions conference! It has been intentionally designed with pastors and church staff members in mind. Some of the highlights will include church specific workshops and seminars aimed at helping you think through how to be more intentional in sending and supporting your own to the mission field.
Highlights & Activities
Monday
– Monday night at 9:00 PM, Join students and mission representatives in the Student Life Center for a fun activity.
– 1:00-3:00 – Seminars presented for students, local churches will have the option of attending seminars designed with them in mind or three training sessions presented by World Thrust International.
– 6:00-9:00 – Join us to hear a special presentation from Mike Urton and another special speaker on Reaching Unreached People Groups in North America!
– Local churches will have the option to attend some special training seminars designed to help you in sending and supporting your missionaries.
– The conference will conclude with the final chapel at 11:00pm on Friday.
