We have anxiously prayed and waited, and now it has happened. We started the process on July 25, 2007, of applying for the U.S. Marine Corps. property located “across the street” from Calvary’s existing property. Throughout the application process, many dates had been given for when the decision would be reached. These dates have come and gone throughout the years, but eventually it was declared that as of September 2011, the property would have a new caretaker. Calvary was hopeful that we would be awarded the property, and Calvary Bible College and Calvary Theological Seminary would have a permanent property.
You can imagine the highs and lows of watching time go by with one date after another not being met, but finally the time for answered prayer arrived. What a day of celebration and joy. It is all free, praise the Lord!
We wish you could have been here when it was announced to all students, faculty, and staff that Calvary had been awarded the property. The great anticipation came to fruition! Everyone is now enjoying life “across the street,” with newly expanded classrooms, offices, and dorm facility which is far superior to what Calvary students have been living in for the last 30 years. The excitement can hardly be contained. Students are experiencing something that seemed like only a dream a few short years ago.
God has taught us a great deal of patience through this expansion, and we have learned that His timing is perfect. You may be surprised at the secondary costs of equipping these facilities. For the chapel and the education buildings, it will be $21,500 for chairs and nearly $8,000 for tables. Thankfully, we received a $3,000 gift towards these costs, a donation that came with a match challenge. It’s remarkable how matching gifts, little-by-little, soon double or triple the original amount offered.
Please pray for us during these exciting times that we would be faithful and visionary with this new property. Pray that all we do would bring glory to the Savior from whom all blessings flow.
