Is there anything better than gathering together with 182 close friends and having a great BBQ pulled-pork dinner with Jack Stack’s BBQ beans, cheesy corn, and coleslaw?  Who wouldn’t want to taste Joe Dapra’s homemade dinner rolls and chocolate chip cookies and then have a chance to bid on 92 items at the Feast and Fund Auction? Calvary University presented its first public event inside the newly remodeled Student Life Center on the evening of March 2nd, and we had a grand old time.

The beautiful Friday evening allowed people to come from all over the Greater Kansas City area to bid on items with a wide variety of interest. The auction had everything from half a side of pork to an HO scale model train set, a three-day deer hunt to paintings and drawings from local artists as well as Calvary University’s own students and their skill sets. The purpose of the evening was to raise funds to help defray the cost of education for the Calvary students and to help purchase new mattresses for the dorm. We are proud to announce both goals were accomplished! The night brought a grand total of $41,874.74, for which we are grateful. We offer our special thanks to our gold sponsors for the evening, Bill and Debi Keeney, Pearce Construction, and Heritage Benefits. Also, a special recognition goes out to our auctioneer for the evening, Mr. Doug Delozier, who did a fantastic job of keeping the crowd entertained and bidding.

If you did not get an opportunity to be a part of this event, next year the auction will be held on March 1, 2019, at the Calvary University Student Life Center. Hope to see you there! We will once again be looking for items throughout the year to make this event bigger and better than this year.
