“The more that you READ, the more THINGS you will KNOW. The MORE you LEARN, the more PLACES you’ll GO.” ~ Dr. Seuss
Our Mission is to encourage lifelong learning through teaching literacy strategies to children and their families.
Often when people hear the word “literacy,” they think of reading and language arts. However, literacy is much more than that. Literacy can be defined as competence or knowledge in a specified area, such as mathematics, science, or technology. A child who has literacy strategies knows not just what to think, but how to think. They are better equipped to handle the challenges presented to them throughout their lives.
Who do we serve? We currently serve Belton and Grandview families with children ages 4-14.
What services are provided? We are pleased to provide tutoring (both one-on-one and in small groups) and a 2017 Literacy Summer Camp for children entering first through third grades. In the future, we will be hosting monthly book clubs, family literacy workshops, and game nights for the whole family!
