Position Title

Human Resources Coordinator/Accounts Payable Clerk


This is a full-time position with benefits.

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for assisting and advising all personnel of the College and Seminary in employment issues, including but not limited to compliance, orientations, benefits, and payroll support.  The Accounts Payable Clerk provides timely and accurate expenditure of college funds and records those transactions in a manner consistent with college guidelines and generally accepted accounting principles.


  1. Keeps abreast of compliance issues and provides research, information, and advice regarding policies to Cabinet members and other Calvary personnel
  2. Maintains the Staff Handbook, researching, writing and revising policies as needed
  3. Monitors and facilitates employee benefits enrollments
  4. Verifies time off accruals
  5. Handles unemployment claims
  6. Handles Workers Comp and Student Injury reporting and tracking
  7. Receives, routes, and maintains file of applications received
  8. Runs background checks
  9. Maintains personnel files (including Health Insurance and I-9)
  10. Maintains employee records in payroll software
  11. Conducts staff and student orientations
  12. Tracks & recognizes employee birthdays and anniversaries
  13. Ensures that staff and student performance reviews are completed according to schedule
  14. Monitors and facilitates the Exit process for all employees
  15. Administers the Key Management policy and issues hard keys and key cards
  16. Maintains the Approved Drivers List
  17. Gathers information requested by the Institutional Research Coordinator
  18. Keeps all HR forms up to date
  19. Other HR functions as needed
  20. Accurately and timely makes all AP (non-payroll and non-donor) payments
  21. Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of those payments
  22. Maintains a file of W-9s for referees and other independent contractors
  23. Administers the Calvary charge cards and cell phone accounts
  24. Accurately completes credit applications for new accounts as necessary
  25. Maintains files of contracts with vendors
  26. Creates or updates PO and AtoP forms when needed
  27. Cleans office as needed

Required Qualifications

  1. Be a born-again believer and living a dedicated, separated life
  2. Be in agreement with Calvary’s doctrinal position
  3. Highly organized and detail-oriented
  4. Minimum of one year of experience in Human Resources
  5. Basic understanding of health insurance plans, COBRA,FMLA, FLSA, and ADA
  6. High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  7. Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  8. Able to work with a high degree of precision and accuracy
  9. Skilled in communicating verbally or in writing and with a high degree of tact
  10. Skilled in internet research
  11. Basic knowledge of general accounting practices
  12. Basic proficiency with 10-key machine
  13. Basic familiarity with accounting software
  14. Basic filing skills

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  2. Basic familiarity with payroll software
  3. At least one year of experience in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable
  4. Experience with Peachtree Accounting software
