Secondary Education

The Secondary Education degree prepares students to teach Social Studies in grades nine through twelve (Secondary Education-Social Studies). The student who successfully completes this program will be ACSI certified, which qualifies him to teach in private/Christian schools, and will also be eligible to apply for Missouri State Teacher Certification which qualifies him to teach in public schools.

 Objectives

• That the student be able to articulate the Christian philosophy of education.
• That the student be able to teach the Word of God for application and response to secondary students.
• That the student be able to integrate God’s truth with the truth of his subject matter.
• That the student be able to conduct a secondary class using a variety of methods which actively involve his/her students in the learning process.
• That the student be able to apply biblical principles of discipline which produce obedient, kind, and respectful students.
