Title: Assistant Professor of Education
Started at Calvary: August 1974
Professional Information: B.S. (Elementary Teacher Education), Calvary Bible College, 1971; M.A. (Christian Education), Calvary Theological Seminary, 1980
Favorite aspect of teaching at Calvary: Seeing students become successful classroom teachers.
Favorite class to teach: Elementary Literature - I love books, especially children's books, so sharing them with students is enjoyable.
Professional Organization(s): Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, International Reading Association
Originally from: Rhinelander, Wisconsin
Favorite memory as a Calvary student: Dr. Edgar James leading us in singing "Like a River Glorious" and traveling with the Coeds for Christ ensemble. I also enjoyed taking classes along side my husband.
How did past ministry/professional experience lead to your position at Calvary: I was asked to teach one class, Teaching Elementary Art. Soon after, I quit teaching to become a stay-at-home mom after my daughter was born. One thing led to another and I kept adding classes.
Ministry/Professional involvement outside of Calvary: I taught elementary school and helped my husband with a variety of things while he was the headmaster of a Christian school for 36 years. I was also the varsity cheerleading sponsor for 18 years.
