Name: Alison Waller
Hometown: Eureka, IL
How many years have you played basketball: 3 years
Year in school and major: Freshman – Elementary Education/Intercultural Studies
Favorite Bible verse and a brief reason why: Matthew 6:34 – It teaches me to live every day to its fullest, because you never know if it is going to be your last. It gives me comfort-not to worry about the future because God already knows what is going to happen. Just a daily reminder for me to show what God has done for me in whatever I do.
Favorite Bible character and why: The Apostle Paul – He shows how God can take someone and completely change their hearts, and totally make them into a different person. Just another way God shows us his awesome power and control over us. He made Paul go from a persecutor of Christians to ultimately living his life sold out for God, and having his life taken for Christ.
Favorite pastime: Painting or drawing while jamming out to The Beach Boys.
Goals for this upcoming season in basketball: To improve my skills as a player. After taking a break for 2 years, my goal is to just get the feel of the game; work on posting up bigger and more aggressive.
Some bucket list items: Go on a hot air balloon ride; kill a buck with a drop tine! Meet Scotty McCreery; live in another country; travel to New Zealand and London.
Your role-model or someone who has impacted your life: My best friend, Michaela Baldacci. She has had my back in the tough times when it comes to choosing God over something else. She is always there supporting and helping me make decisions. She is the person that I can talk to after having a horrible day and she always makes it better. She has had a huge impact on my life over the past 4 years, and has helped shaped me into the person I am today. Jackie Chan! – He inspired my ninja skills.
