Favorite aspect of teaching at Calvary: I love working with Calvary students to help them recognize the Story of God in great literature and to tell that story with passion and integrity. (The students) have an incredible work ethic and the heart to serve.
Favorite class to teach: Christ and Creativity because it connects students to the creative heart of God. This helps them recognize and develop the unique and individual gifts given to each and every one of His creation by the Creator.

How did past ministry/professional experience lead to your position at Calvary: In fall 2003, I was blissfully busy with a large theatre company for home-educated students when I received a call from Paul Vander Mey, the former head of Calvary's music department. To this day, I still have no idea how he found out about me. I had home-educated our three sons and was near the end of that teaching career, living in relative obscurity. When he called, he asked if I'd like to explore a directing position at Calvary. For some reason, I said, "Why not," and my life hasn't been the same since! In 2008, I turned over h.e.a.r.t. Theatre Company to another artistic director in order to finish my master's degree, begin at Calvary full-time, and develop the Theatre Arts Department.
Ministry/Professional involvement outside of Calvary: I am a founding member of Vox Dei Community in Belton, serve on the church council, and teach Sunday school to second-through-fourth graders.
