Pick-a-Part Play

Pick-a-Part Play - Ages 10+
Mondays 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Instructor: Rachel Maltby
There's nothing like being onstage. The lights, the costumes, and the ability to be a part of something bigger than yourself and inspire your audience to live bigger, better lives. The Pick-a-Part Play team will share the joy of theatre with others by preparing a short sketch and taking it on the road. At each performance the team will lead a very basic acting workshop, paint faces, and perform a short, one-act play in which children from the audience will "pick a part" and become the stars of the show! This will be a great time to share the hope that Jesus gives in an informal, activity-based setting.

Participation in this team will require at minimum an hour's work outside of rehearsal time each week (memorizing several different characters' lines, crafting simple costumes, etc.) Team members must be able to focus, follow instructions, and have a heart for helping others. Enrollment is audition based. While previous experience is always a plus, auditions will be focused more on the students' maturity and desire to grow than on their current acting abilities.

4-week intensive session, April 1 to May 4
Enrollment open through April 19, although team members joining after April 1 may be assigned supporting roles in the productions.
Tuition: $100
Performances April 27; May 3, 4
Performance times TBA
Minimum enrollment of 5; Maximum enrollment of 10
