Our “City of Fountains” is also known as the “Heart of America.” With a population of over 2 million people, Kansas City offers all the advantages inherent to a major metropolitan area. Sprawling across the border of Kansas and Missouri, the personalities and heritage of both states are evident.
Among the many cultural attractions, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra are favorites. The city is also home to many theatre and music venues catering to several genres. A wide ethnic diversity creates a unique culinary culture as well, but the reigning king is our very own Kansas City Barbeque!
Sports are also a big part of Kansas City, and “the metro” is home to the Royals (MLB), Chiefs (NFL), Sporting Kansas City (MLS), T-Bones (minor league baseball) and the Missouri Mavericks (minor league hockey). The Kansas Speedway is host to various races including both NASCAR and IRL events and the downtown Sprint Center houses the College basketball hall of Fame.
