FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
KANSAS CITY, MO - The Calvary Bible College Warriors hosted their conference rivals, the Barclay College Bears, on Friday, January 17. The game was a story of two halves. The Warriors had a great first half, leading 43-34 at the break. The beginning of the second half was much like the first half, Calvary keeping Barclay at arm's length. However, at the 8:23 mark, the Bears tied the game at 63 and never looked back. The final score was Barclay 84, Calvary 71. Coach Mickelson said, "Untimely fouls and turnovers at critical times in the second half proved to be very costly for us. But, this is the type of game you can really learn from. You can learn what it really takes to finish a game. We can really improve as a team if we can handle this disappointing loss the right way." The Warriors had three players in double digits points: Greg Harvey with 22 points, Cody Sanning with 21 points, and Miles Valentino with 10 points. Cody also grabbed a team high 19 rebounds to go along with Kevin Jean-Paul's 11 rebounds off the bench. Senior Abe Freeman also put up some good final numbers in the game with 8 rebounds and 8 points.
Calvary's next game is another conference game at home against Manhattan Christian College on Saturday, January 18, at 4 p.m.
