Calvary at Emmaus Bible College

MOBERLY, MO – (November 23, 2013) The 2013-14 season got off to a great start for the Calvary Warrior women's basketball program as the team was able to beat Emmaus Bible College 63-30 on Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 lead off of the tip and did not look back.  Calvary would cause 19 Emmaus turnovers in the first half and dictated the tempo of the game with their defense.  The Warriors would use that strong defensive pressure, hot shooting, and their height advantage to push the lead to 42-18 at the half.

With adjustments made in the locker room, the Warriors started the second half on another run, forcing the Eagles to call a timeout.  Calvary continued to build the lead with good man-to-man defense that keyed numerous transition buckets.

Junior Lydia Chambers led all scorers with 22 points and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.  Allie Riegel had a solid performance in her first contest as a Warrior, contributing 21 points and 6 steals, while Ashley Spicer chipped in with 10 points and 7 steals.

The Warriors will take on Ozark Christian College on December 3 in Joplin, MO.
