Last Friday, Joe Dapra and his cafeteria staff served roast beef for lunch. This wasn’t just any roast, though. It was specially donated Kansas beef from Lyle Longenecker! Mr. Longenecker donated 650 pounds of hamburger, steak, and roast through the Calvary Cow-Calf Program. This program allows farmers and ranchers to raise calves until they are fully grown. Then they sell the cow and donate the money to Calvary for our students’ education. Another option is to donate the processed beef to the cafeteria, which is a huge help in feeding our students! The Cow-Calf Program currently has three cows from three different farmers in Kansas and Missouri. If you would like more information about this program, contact Randy Grimm.
